Are you looking forward to making something blow up? Are you interested in making something sticky and gooey? If so, then the Roosevelt Middle School Science Fair is for YOU! The Science Fair will be held on October 19, 2016 and it is directed by Mrs.Leiba – Fletcher.

All students at RMS are required to complete a science fair project this year. Science fair projects allow students to try new things and be creative with their work. A lot of students are excited to start their science fair projects and are hoping to place in the competition this year.

A student here at RMS, Dantes Lewis, is ready for his first middle school science fair. He is preparing to do his project on plants, a popular science fair topic. “I feel that the science project will help me learn more about plants and teach others students how to interact with plants,” said Dantes.

He said, “The Science Fair will help students interact with each other in a educational and positive way.” Like many other students, Dantes, is new to middle school and needs help with his science project. The school’s science department is providing help after school for those students who need assistance with topics and research. “I’m currently attending the after school science fair help meeting and it is very useful,” said Dantes.

Mrs. Leiba is one of the science teachers that stay after school help the students and is happy with the turnout. The students meet with her on on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in room 5-107. “All students are encouraged to come but they should come prepared to work and be productive,” said Mrs. Leiba.

The science fair is less than a month away and students are encouraged to take advantage of the help each week leading up until the fair. Only the best and most prepared students will win. Is that you?

Send us your science fair pictures to be posted online and in our next NORM issue.
