The first official games of the season started on November 11th featuring Duke vs. Grand Canyon and many other notable schools. Several teams are starting off their season the right way. Oklahoma State beat Campbell 102-65 with Jawun Evans scored 34 points. Evans also finished with six rebounds, three assists and five steals. Both UMBC, New Hampshire, Cincinnati, SMU, East Carolina, Dayton, and several other college teams start their season with a 2-0 streak. As of the 15th Kaela Davis leads the standings with an average 37 points per game out of South Carolina. Caitlyn Ramirez, Michigan State and Western Kentucky are other league leaders this season.

When I asked college basketball player Brice Jenkins what team he believes will be the most the most dominant he replied, “I feel like University of Kentucky will be the most dominant team in college basketball, they have a lot of good freshman players on their team.” In regards to his academic achievement, he says that “I balance both basketball and my academic studies by going to the library two hours before practice to do my homework and after practice I stay in the gym for an hour to work on my game.” Finally, he believes that the most exciting part of the season is the playoffs because every win gets you closer to a championship. With all male and female teams working hard this season to prove themselves, it is sure to be a very eventful season this year.
